Programme Manager - Corsham SN13

Salary £75,000 - £85,000

We’re a technical consultancy, partnering with UK government on mission-critical projects, and we’re looking for an exceptional programme manager ready to make a difference.  You’ll enjoy leading a diverse team on a project like no other – continually refining your programme management skills in a dynamic and complex environment.

You’ll play a vital role in the implementation of UK defence policy, collaborating closely with industry-leading technical experts and Ministry of Defence colleagues on assured delivery of this important national endeavour.  As the only team in the country delivering this output, innovation is part of our DNA and we’re always looking to push boundaries and deliver more for our customers – because we know how high the stakes can be.

The role demands discretion and commitment; you’ll need to work on site and maintain a high level of UK security clearance.  You should be willing and able to travel occasionally within the UK and the USA; however, we understand the importance of a good work-life balance, and along with a generous well-being allowance and benefits package, we offer our team members a variety of flexible working options.

You’ll benefit from:

  • 25 days annual leave inclusive of up to 3 days Christmas shut-down
  • Buy or sell up to 5 days’ annual leave
  • Two pension schemes to choose from
  • Private Medical & Dental Insurance + discounts for additional family members
  • Life Assurance scheme up to 4 x salary
  • Share Save scheme
  • Electric/Hybrid Car leasing scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Retail discounts
  • Continuous Professional development support
  • Annual Wellness Allowance

The invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more

We’re expecting that you’ve got experience of programme and project management in a defence environment.  You’ll have a strong working knowledge of programme management principles and best practices, and a track record in developing and leading high-performing teams, working closely with cross-functional managers to ensure resources are in place to deliver on projects, and successfully navigating the commercial aspects of a technical business.

From your successful career, so-far, you’ll bring your proven experience of

  • Managing complex Defence projects and programmes with a focus on establishing and maturing a robust delivery governance structure
  • Delivery using a mixture of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Financial awareness
  • Demonstrable team-player ethos with a focus on customer relationship management
  • Leadership and problem-solving
  • Directly managing other managers and senior engineers
  • Resource and risk management
  • Credible commercial acumen

Our non-negotiables:

Due to the highly-secure nature of the projects you will be involved with, you must be

  • A sole UK National
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a UK Government DV security clearance

And the nice to haves:

  • Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Membership of an appropriate professional or chartered body
  • Able and willing to support strategy and business development
