Senior PHP Developer 

A fantastic opportunity for a Senior PHP Developer to join an exciting growing global research and intelligence client. 

Location: London based - flexible working model 

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000

Role overview:

  • Guide and mentor a team of software engineers within an Agile Scrum framework, facilitating their growth and providing necessary support.

  • Collaborate in establishing a contemporary DevOps environment, contributing to its development and enhancement.

  • Cultivate a team culture centered on collaboration, innovation, and ongoing improvement, fostering an environment conducive to success.

  • Spearhead the creation of top-tier software solutions utilizing PHP frameworks like Symfony, Slim, Laravel, Laminas, or other suitable options.

  • Drive the adoption of Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies employing PHPUnit to uphold code excellence and dependability.

  • Take charge of the conception and execution of a cutting-edge platform leveraging the latest tools and technologies.

  • Engage in close collaboration with diverse teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.

  • Showcase comprehensive expertise in HTTP and REST principles, vital for crafting scalable and sustainable RESTful APIs.

  • Harness Docker for efficient containerisation and leverage AWS for cloud infrastructure, deployment, and administration, ensuring seamless operations.

Skills / Qualifications required: 

  • Multiple years of experience within Software Engineering with focus on PHP background within B2B environment is important 

  • Demonstrated track record of effectively guiding and overseeing a team of software engineers within an Agile Scrum setting.

  • Proficiency in PHP frameworks such as Symfony, Slim, Laravel, Laminas, or others, as well as Test-Driven Development (TDD) using PHPUnit.

  • Comprehensive understanding of HTTP and REST principles for API development.

  • Essential experience with PostgreSQL for data management.

  • Proficiency in Docker for containerisation and AWS for cloud infrastructure.
