We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager / Technical (Hands-On) Project Manager to join an innovative and forward-thinking organisation. This is a unique opportunity for a tech-savvy professional with a strong background in infrastructure support, networking, firewalls (especially Cisco), and project management to lead the delivery of a number of projects planned to be delivered during the next 12 months and potentially beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

As the IT Manager / Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of exciting and critical projects whilst being actively involved with the management of 3rd party vendors. We are seeking an individual who places a strong emphasis on hands-on technical expertise.

Project Management:

• Develop and manage project plans for initiatives such as backup as a service (BaaS)  disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS), VMware file storage migrations, firewall projects, document management, and WMS / MES projects.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Utilise your strong technical background to act as an additional, high level technical resource if needed such as to convey firewall configs and rules to third-party vendors.
• ISO 27001
• Lead and actively participate in technical projects, demonstrating hands-on expertise.

Third-Party Management:

• Oversee relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring optimal performance and value for the organization.
• Intervene when necessary to ensure deliverables meet expectations.

Team Coordination:

• Coordinate technical teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project execution.
• Support and guide team members, ensuring everyone ful fills their project responsibilities.

Business Analysis:

• Engage in business analysis duties, understanding and translating business requirements into technical solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in technical processes and project delivery.
• Proactively identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience:

• Proven experience in IT management, technical project management, and infrastructure support.
• Strong technical background in networking, firewalls (especially Cisco), and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with projects such as backup as a service, disaster recovery as a service, VMware file storage, firewall projects, document management, and WMS / MES projects, although technical experience in this area is not needed, just the ability to be able to deliver the related projects.
• ISO 27001
• Excellent third-party management skills, with a track record of ensuring vendors deliver to high standards.
• Strong leadership and team coordination skills.

Based Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire border.  3 days needed onsite per week due to project collaboration requirements.
