Title: SCADA Automation Engineer
Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience.
Candidates suited to this position:
This role is suited to an Electrical, Automation or Computer Engineer who has a strong technical background.
This position will expose the candidate to many aspects of SCADA and Instrumentation technology and must therefore demonstrate an aptitude and enthusiasm for the design, ongoing development, installation and support of the clients SCADA solutions.
Overview of Role:
The role is predominately office based with some requirement to attend site during deployment and commissioning phases. A major part includes working with Ignition, a web-based HMI, SCADA and MES software package to present a high standard front end SCADA solution to the client.
Responsibilities :
- Implementation of all new solutions and installations
- Responding to customer and/or client requests or events as they occur
- Liaising with Senior Engineers on implementation of PLC, HMI and SCADA software for new projects.
- Creating Tags to be used in the SCADA system.
- Create software design specifications and associated documentation for solutions.
- Use of design software such as InTouch, Ignition, Broadwin and 1CC Flexible.
- Dealing with client IT departments in relation to security.
- General all-round Housekeeping of all SCADA projects.
- Logging of all SCADA service calls, assignment to technical staff and ownership to resolution
- Development of standards and specifications in line with customer requirements
To be considered for this role you will need to possess strong technical skills:
- In-depth understanding of SCADA system architecture and components.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in SCADA and PLC solutions.
- Able to demonstrate a methodical, logical and consistent approach to design and deployment processes.
- Excellent customer facing skills, and work well under pressure, demonstrating a professional manner, with an ability to identify and focus on customer needs, during the design, testing, deployment and ongoing support of the client’s solutions.
