Job Title: 1st Line Support Technician

Reports to: IT Support Manager

Role Overview:

As a 1st Line Support Technician, you will be the first point of contact for our clients' technical issues. You will provide efficient and effective IT support, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring that all issues are resolved promptly or escalated as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming technical support requests via phone, email, and chat.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Escalate more complex issues to 2nd Line Support or other relevant departments.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all support requests and resolutions.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring clients are kept informed of the progress of their requests.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software.
  • Perform regular system updates and maintenance tasks as directed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar 1st Line Support or Helpdesk role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and Windows operating systems.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote desktop applications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or ITIL Foundation.
  • Experience with Mac OS, Linux, or other operating systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud services and virtualization technologies.
