Job Title - IT Infrastructure & Security Technician
Location - Devizes, Wiltshire
Salary - £45-50K DOE, plus bonuses
Type - Permanent
Hours - Fulltime, based onsite

The Company

My client is a leading manufacturing business located in the Southwest, and they manufacture precision parts, primarily serving the automotive, aerospace and power generation industries supplying a worldwide customer base.

The company has three sites within the Southwest of England, one in Bath and two in Devizes and this position will be located within the Devizes sites but also covering the Bath site as and when required.

The role:

Within the role of IT Infrastructure & Security Technician, you will support all areas of the business, providing technical support and expertise to resolve IT issues, ensuring the smooth operation and the site.

The main responsibilities will be:

• Day to day responsibility of the following technologies:
  • Server Virtualisation solutions
  • Enterprise class storage solutions
  • Enterprise class Backup and Replication solutions
  • LAN and WAN Network solutions
  • Directory Services, including AD, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy
  • Provisioning new servers (Virtual and Physical)
  • Secure access and availability to cloud-based systems (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS)

• Maintain patching of firmware, driver, operating system, and application security updates for the above technologies
• Routinely test and document the recovery process of implemented technologies.
• Manage the Endpoint security suite, including but not limited to advanced threat protection, threat prevention, Web Gateway/Client Proxy, Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint Encryption and management toolsets.
• Organise routine penetration tests and remedy exploits and vulnerabilities found.
• From research provide recommended solutions to implement new technologies, hardware, cloud solutions and applications that can improve Business IT functionality.
• Contribute to the activities raised to the Service Delivery Team.
• Manage relationships with relevant 3rd parties for support of all the above technologies.
• Assisting with on-call to the sites on a rota basis.

The hours:

Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:00 with 30 minutes unpaid lunch and 08:00 15:30 on Fridays.

Skills/Experience required:

Proven experience in a 3rd line support role demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Certifications in any of the following would be beneficial within the role:

• Microsoft Server
• Microsoft Azure
• Hyper-V / VMware
• HPE/3PAR storage
• HPE/Aruba Networking
• Cyber security
