  • Hybrid - 2 days in office 15 mins south of Cork City
  • Long term 6+ month rolling contract - €400 - €450 per day

Our client is seeking an experienced project delivery engineer/infrastructure engineer to work apart of a small close knit team on a global OT project. Project is expected to go for the next 2 - 2.5 years.

The main objective of the role is to support Compute IT Operations and Delivery for the business. The role supports compute infrastructure and delivery in several countries across several plants and data centre locations. This covers all aspects of compute technology including OT Compute, Application & Data Centre Rationalisation and Cloud First and migration strategies.

Accountabilities

  • Deliver compute projects in line with global engineering direction
  • Coordinate technical activities between multiple vendors and various project teams.
  • Manage and maintain patching/security compliance, vulnerability management and remediation to high standards.
  • Drive and support strategic infrastructure projects and programs using best practice and industry standards.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience working on large scale infrastructure projects
  • 8+ years experience in IT
  • In-depth technical knowledge in Compute Infrastructure & associated operating systems.
  • Strong experience in Active Directory 
  • Servers, Storage & Backup systems
  • Virtualisation – Azure Cloud, VMWare vSphere and ESXi clustering, VM deployments
  • Windows Administration skills / Basic Linux skills desirable
  • IT Resiliency concepts, infrastructure, and application high availability
  • Backup and Recovery - Good knowledge of principles, backup schedules and recovery techniques
  • Cyber Security concepts such as risk assessments, data protection, identity management
  • Familiar with IT Operating & Support Models
  • Networking – good knowledge of Networks with a familiarity of Firewalls from a compute perspective
  • Ability to work in/with virtual teams that can be located anywhere in the world.
  • Experience of planning, co-ordination and execution of Backup & Recovery principles, schedules, and techniques
  • Strong vendor technical project management capability and experience in managing third party vendors and managed services partners.
  • Experience of manufacturing environments and broad range of business-facing engagement and experience
  • Familiarity with the following a distinct advantage.
  • Vulnerability Management (Patching, hardening)
  • Citrix knowledge desirable
  • Database familiarity (SQL Server and Oracle)
  • IT in Manufacturing environments (OT)
  • Service-Now as a platform
  • Enterprise Storage (Dell)
