Job Description

The Client organisation provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As the Digital Lead you will be a key enabler in support of these projects.

Main Purpose of Role

Contributing to the information management aspects of the project, reporting into the senior management team. This role will involve the configuration and maintenance of the Asset Information Model Common Data Environment (AIM CDE) and the client's Work in Progress area and integration with the supply chain’s Project Information Model CDE (PIM CDE).

You will be responsible for:

  • Compliance to the exchange information requirements and the asset information management standards and requirements and will develop and own the digital / information strategy to ensure information is generated and managed effectively throughout an asset’s lifecycle.
  • The management of the internal systems, processes and applications being used by the client on various projects covering Project Delivery, Project Controls, Engineering, Commercial and Information Management (IM)
  • The management of the supply chain delivering information into the project via the exchange information requirements.
  • The management of information at handover into operations, in the operational phase and at end of life / decommissioning.
  • Supporting the teams to effectively manage all information flow, to maintain and control the influx and issue of drawings, specification, surveys, reports, documents, and trackers, to ensure all departments and team members have the latest and correct information that has been through the workflow process.
  • The development of an information management team to support the portfolio of projects.
  • Training and support to users.
  • The assurance and quality control of documents and artefacts that are submitted and stored.
  • Providing advice and guidance on technical issues around the configuration and use of the CDE systems.
  • Configuration and day to day management of the system, adding and maintaining user accounts and security groups.
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests from users to move or rename any incorrectly uploaded files / documents.
  • Organising and delivering regular training sessions on the purpose and use of the system for new users and refresher training for existing users.
  • Providing reports and information on system usage, compliance and assist with requests relating to user activity.
  • Ensure the CDE process (WIP, Shared and Published states) is used by the project teams.
  • Working with the wider project management, design and BIM teams to ensure BIM delivery is successful as are the projects.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences

  • Information management experience across a number of projects and programmes.
  • Experience setting up the document control and IM function and using the ISO 19650 processes.
  • Familiar with the UK BIM Framework and CDE management.
  • Subject expert experience in key IM software including Gliderbim, SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience of a variety of different projects or programmes across different sectors.
  • User level experience of at least one other CDE / EDMS or similar system.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple requirements simultaneously.
  • Must be able to manage priorities according to the demands of the project environment.
  • Skilled in presenting to groups and delivering training in a variety of mediums.
  • Set up and maintenance of workflows within a CDE / EDMS.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent Stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
  • Design and Construction experience background i.e. civil, structural, architectural and MEP or similar.
  • Shall hold HNC, Diploma, Degree in one of the above multi-discipline roles.
  • Shall have knowledge of ISO 19650 standards
  • Shall have a minimum of 5 years design and construction experience.
  • The post holder must be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the process of BIM throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
Additional Information

Security clearance:

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.

Will require 3 days per week on site at Glasgow
