Technical Architect

My client is a consultancy in the public sector and are looking for an experienced Technical Architect responsible for designing and building satellite-specific technical architecture for a significant public sector procurement.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret complex processes and produce high-quality analysis and insights.
  • Interface effectively between senior users and requirements engineers.
  • Interact appropriately with public sector clients.
  • Design technical solutions and advise on design patterns.
  • Analyse technical issues and translate them into actionable designs.
  • Identify deeper issues and innovate for collaborative solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Make and guide decisions, considering risk and complexity.
  • Apply strategy and provide guidance based on patterns and standards.
  • Turn business problems into technical designs.
  • Understand trends and practices outside the immediate team.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Hold a degree in numerate subjects such as Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics.
  • Familiarity with tools like Sparx EA, Bizzdesign, Excel, PowerBI, System Architect, MooD. (Ideally at least BizzDesign and Sparx EA)
  • Strong configuration control and documentation approach.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Hold UK Security Clearance (preferably DV).

Desirable Skills:

  • Awareness of public sector procurement methods.
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks (ideally NAF and TOGAF)
  • Knowledge of modelling languages (ideally ArchiMate)
  • Familiarity with satellite communication systems.
  • Experience with military communication satellite systems.
  • Understanding of service architectures and solutions development.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards (INCOSE and ISO 15288).
