Job Description:

We are looking for a Stock Controller to join our team and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will work closely with our operational team and report to the Site Operations Manager. The role involves stock taking, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring that all stock locations within the warehouse are accurately documented. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Stock Taking:

Conduct regular stock takes to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.

Perform stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.

Investigate and resolve any stock discrepancies identified during stock taking.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of stock levels, stock movements, and stock locations.

Monitor stock levels and reorder as necessary to prevent stockouts.

Ensure that stock is stored safely and securely to prevent damage or loss.

Stock Location Management:

Organize and manage the layout of the warehouse to optimize stock storage.

Label and identify all stock locations within the warehouse for easy retrieval.

Regularly check all stock locations to ensure correct stock placement.

Documentation and Reporting:

Keep accurate records of all stock transactions, including receipts, issues, and returns.

Prepare reports on stock levels, stock movements, and any stock discrepancies.

Provide regular updates to the Site Operations Manager on stock status and inventory accuracy.

Health and Safety:

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Identify potential safety hazards related to stock storage and take appropriate measures to address them.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and accuracy in stock management.

 Participate in the development and implementation of new stock control procedures and protocols.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience: 

- Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar role, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.

- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Experience using stock management software or ERP systems.

- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management best practices.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with stock taking procedures and inventory reconciliation.

- Forklift truck license (desirable but not essential).
