Nicholas Howard is delighted to be recruiting for a UI/UX Designer for a highly successful FinTech business. We are looking for a passionate UI/UX Designer who will work collaboratively with the development team in an agile environment. This individual will play a crucial role in creating designs for products, as well educating and mentoring developers on UI/UX principles, ensuring that design thinking is ingrained in every stage of product development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both UI/UX design, with the ability to create wireframes and concept designs that inspire and inform the development process.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to understand project requirements and user needs.
  • Lead design thinking workshops and training sessions to educate developers on UI/UX principles, best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and concept designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to gather insights and inform design decisions.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback, user testing, and data analysis to continuously improve the user experience.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and efficiently, providing guidance and support throughout the development process.
  • Maintain design consistency and coherence across all digital products, adhering to brand guidelines and design systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and design tools, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing wireframes, prototypes, and concept designs.
  • Expertise in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to non-designers.
  • Experience working in an agile environment, with a deep understanding of agile methodologies and processes.
  • Passion for education and mentorship, with the ability to inspire and empower developers to embrace design thinking.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a growth mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.
