Our client, a leading telecommunications company, is looking for a data center engineer to join its site in Newport, Wales.
Location: Newport, Wales
What you will do:
· Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.
· Identify risks and perform IDC vendor operation and maintenance quality assessment.
· Perform RCA(root cause analysis) of critical equipment failures
· Troubleshoot and report of facility and data sever-level events within internal SLA
· Provide training and guidance to operation team, such as MOP,SOP,EOP
· Ensure all EHS procedures are adhered to by vendor and internal staff
· Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
· Follow the instructions to verify the IDC supplier's acceptance of the cabinet and on-site data center hosting service (racks/power/cooling) delivery confirmation.
· Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the cloud data center site, responsible for on-site reliability and associate project delivery
The ideal candidate:
· 1+ years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment or 1+ years of technical training or experience with relevant data center facilities equipment
· Bachelors or above in applicable engineering field or mechanical or electrical
Electrical or mechanical License in the UK
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Solid leadership and organizational skills
· Proven self-starter
· Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment
· Base in the UK, would be able to travel to other countries.
· Holding a valid UK Driving licence
