We are looking for a Emissions & Sustainability Data Lead to join Heathrow on a permanent basis. This will be working hybrid 3 days in the office per week.

You will act as the carbon and sustainability data SME for Heathrow, setting the required standards for emissions and sustainability data working with the business and third party data providers (including Team Heathrow companies) to gather and collate that data to produce monthly and annual reporting and ad hoc reports as needed.

Job role

Carbon and sustainability are central to Heathrow's success. Robust data to understand our emissions and broader sustainability impacts is vital.

This is a new role housed in the carbon team but supporting our wider sustainability team. It is part of the overall business move to a data-driven culture, building on data science capability to meet business goals.

It is responsible for collating robust data on emissions and sustainability impacts from Heathrow activities to enable performance improvement and to meet external statutory disclosure requirements and investor expectations. It will help shape our overall strategy on emissions and sustainability data, sponsoring the development of the right tools and provide analysis to support the business to make proactive, data-led decisions.

Experience

5+ years' experience in relevant data roles, and ideally some experience of working with sustainability data in a corporate environment.

Educated to degree level or equivalent essential with further post graduate qualifications desirable.

Proven ability to drive value through data, from analysis and modelling to visualisation and storytelling.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to break down complex issues in a structured and logical manner with conclusions being supported by data and facts.

Proven ability to engage and influence at senior levels both internally and externally.

Knowledge and experience of data science methods, tools, and languages, including machine learning, R/Python, SQL, and Power BI.

Strong interpersonal and communication, presentation and influencing skills and able to deliver activities by working with colleagues across Heathrow and its partners.

Exceptional attention to detail, with strong organisational skills.

Experience with internal and external assurance of sustainability data.

The ideal candidate would combine knowledge and skills in data with the same in sustainability.

Strong understanding of Heathrow's strategic agenda and the sustainability issues facing the aviation sector.

Location: Heathrow (3 days in office, 2 remote)

2 stage interview process, will include assessment of Heathrow values alignment, second one will require a presentation.
