Digital Health and Care Wales has set an ambitious objective to provide world leading digital services, empowering people to live healthier lives. This role is all about helping to shape the organisation’s plans through the use of the Microsoft 365 Power Platform suite including Power BI, to ensure we prioritise and deliver the key activities needed.  

We are looking for a forward-thinking candidate with strong Power Platform / Power BI skills who also has good organisation, communication and planning skills to help shape the tooling needed to support and drive corporate planning and programme and project management. 

This will include shaping and maintaining programme and project management tooling in Power Apps and building and configuring reporting dashboards using Power BI. The right candidate will also be responsible for identifying, planning and implementing improvements to our existing planning tooling working towards a seamless user experience and the ability to enable real time demand and capacity management organisation wide. There will also be opportunities to consider wider integration options across NHS Wales.  

If you have strong Power Platform / Power BI skills, great attention to detail and enjoy shaping new and existing IT solutions, then this job will stimulate you.  

This post will report into the Principal Planning Manager and will have the opportunity to form close links with the NHS Wales Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence to ensure best practice is maintained and knowledge and skills are kept up to date.   

The Planning Power Platform Manager will: 

  • Work as a key member of the DHCW Planning Team to improve organisational tooling to support stakeholders in managing the creation and maintenance of the organisation’s strategic and delivery plans. This includes enhancing and maintaining existing tooling within the Power Platform, Power BI and Microsoft 365 suite as well as playing a lead role in shaping and configuring new tooling to meet business needs.   
  • Working closely with the Principal Planning Manager and M365 Centre of Excellence to provide advice and guidance on a range of service improvements including providing expertise in relation to best practice use of the Power Platform suite to meet requirements and ensure longevity of solutions.  
  • Support the definition and delivery of Portfolio Management software to support Programme and Project Management. This will include the automation of reports and creation of reporting dashboards using Power BI.
