We are partnered with a reputable global consultancy that are recruiting JAVA / HP NON STOP DEVELOPERS or JAVA / TANDEM ARCHITECTS to work on a very exciting LONG-TERM CONTRACT. 

Role: JAVA / HP NON STOP DEVELOPER OR JAVA / Tandem Architects

Rate: Up to £600 per day (inside IR35)

Location: London – Hybrid

Duration: 6 months (initially – view to extend)

Role description:

• Experience of developing Java applications that are ran on the HP Non-Stop (used to be called Tandem) Java system.
• In depth knowledge and experience with HP nonstop Tandem systems, including Hardware, Software and architecture
• Experience of coding Java that is ran on HPNS(Tandem) as we're finding issues and want to understand what other things to look out for.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure HP Non-Stop Tandem platform is successfully integrated and operated within the company’s business environment
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to trouble shoot complex issues related to NonStop systems, including Hardware, Software and Networking.
• Participate in, support and manage the deployment of applications within test, pre-production and production environments
• Installation and testing of new release/products like IBM MQ, Python, NonStop Webserver, Batch definition
• NonStop Security management
• Database (SQL/MP and SQL/MX) management
• System / Application performance analysis
• NonStop Network management
• Participate to major project (Stilton, ORT, DC 2+2, SCF …)
• Perform capacity management and performance analysis
• Experience of running and supporting Java on HPNS(Tandem) would be useful

Key skills:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a master's degree in mathematics, Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
• A proved experience of min 5 years on the NonStop Environment
• Strong knowledge of System Administration and Network Guardian & OSS
• Programming language skills: TACL, Python, Yaml, Shell Script
• Strong knowledge on the NonStop Infrastructure and tools: RDF/TMF/SCF/Pathway/Safeguard/DSM/SCM/MQSerie, SQL & SQL/MX, XMA, XUA, XCM, SSHCOM, ODBC, ITPWeb…)
• Deep knowledge in Performance analysis (Measure, SQL explain plan …)
• JAVA is a plus
• Able to demonstrate your ability to learn ICT technologies and share your knowledge
• Training newcomers on the Tandem technology
