Brief

SAP Cost Planner needed for a global engineering consultancy based in the Reading area who are looking for a SAP Cost Planner to assist on a Water project. This role will be based initially on a 2 month contract trial period and has the workload if successful to continue on a 6 month rolling basis up to 3 years!

What the role entails:

As SAP Cost Planner, you will be responsible for:

• Update SAP with information pertaining to forecasts, actuals, and slippage, as provided by consultants, tracking key milestones required by the business. Assuring both the quality of the data and compliance with financial and corporate policies on cost recognition.
• Work with Delivery Planners to maintain SAP milestones based on the correct outputs and outcomes and identify exceptions as part of the agreed quality and assurance processes. Provide challenge and insight where required.
• Manage project information during project brief, in line with project and programme information and business plan objectives.
• Work alongside the governance team to ensure that changes to funding reflect project initiatives and changes in governance.
• Maintain SAP. Work alongside the Programme Manager to ensure monitoring and forecasting of Unbriefed allocations and drawdowns to eliminate the risk of double counting.
• Support Budget setting and financial forecasting for their functional area of the business.
• Maintain a consistent Cost Breakdown Schedule (WBS) within SAP with Activity ID mapping and coding, to enable robust reporting and compliance with IFRS and other reporting and controlling standards.
• Ensure that changes to baseline performance are escalated.
• Ensure correct cost settlement and capitalisation.

Experience required for the SAP Cost Planner position

• Advanced SAP Skill - 10+ years of experience
