Role: Infrastructure Architect
Location: 1 day per week in the office, Midlands HQ, commutable from West and East Midlands
A newly created role, working for an iconic UK brand that have also been voted as a Top 40 UK Employer
The organisation is supporting and driving a cloud-first, Microsoft aligned strategy utilising best of breed, industry recognised solutions across the business.
The IT Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for designing solutions and roadmaps that encompass multiple technologies on large complex projects and products.
Areas of responsibility:
- Planning - asses' ideas, scope and feasibility of proposed new and enhanced technology
- Roadmaps - working with the Head of Architecture to design and own a fit-for-purpose high- and low-level solution roadmap for infrastructure
- Creation and maintenance of Architecture Standards, Patterns, and Building Blocks to drive solution re-use, delivery pace, quality assurance and cost efficiency
- Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and potential future suppliers to build awareness of technology opportunities, supplier roadmaps and industry best practices
- Build excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Skills / experience:
- Infrastructure experience across multiple technologies such as Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, O365, Cisco SD-WAN/Wi-Fi/Switches/Routers/Firewalls, Linux
- Experience of designing solutions using Cloud technologies especially Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of Information Security including zero trust
- Experience working with outsourced resource to deliver / implement solutions
- Excellent high and low level design communication skills
- Keen interest in cloud technology and innovations
- Experience of having direct responsibility for architecture/design activities on large/complex projects
