Professional Services Engineer (Storage, GPFS, HPC)

Innovative and fast-growing provider of software defined storage solutions for high performance computing are looking for a motivated and experienced professional services engineer to join their team.  The role will be working with a range of new and existing clients primarily within the media and entertainment sector to implement, consult and support the range of products provided.  This will involve physical installation, configuration, networking, upgrading and performance monitoring / support to ensure clients get full benefit from the product’s innovative capabilities.  You will need to have a strong technical background in system administration with deep knowledge of Linux (CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu) as well as knowledge of Windows and ServerOS.  You will have strong Shell Scripting experience with Bash, Python or similar. SAMBA experience would be an advantage. Networking, cabling, racking and hardware installation is involved and a good understanding is required.  You will also need an understanding of Storage solutions ideally with experience of IBM Spectrum Scale / GPFS (or similar parallel file system) as well as NAS, DAS, SAN and general storage administration.  The understanding and experience of working with Cloud technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure etc) is a distinct benefit.  The role is working closely with clients onsite and you will need the communication skills and experience to work in client environment understanding a client’s environment and needs with often tight deadlines.  Any experience of working within the entertainment media, post-production or VFX sector is advantage.  Clients are based primarily in and around the Los Angeles / Southern California area and the ability to travel to clients regularly is essential.  They offer a dynamic, fast-growing company working within an exciting sector.  Excellent opportunities available for learning and career growth as the company expands.
