Accountant (In-House) - Basingstoke

The Company:

Focus Group Recruitment have the pleasure with working alongside market leading IT Managed Service Provider. My client are the UK leaders within the leisure and hospitality sector.

The Role

Due to planned growth and business requirements, we are now seeking an in-house Accountant to join the dynamic team. The business has grown from strength to strength in the 20 plus years it has been running and has experienced strong growth and stability.

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the full month-end management accounts cycle.
• Managing cash flow for group accounts and investing excess liquidity appropriately, including multiple currency accounts.
• Overseeing the full Purchase Ledger cycle, processing all purchase invoices, reconciling discrepancies, and liaising with suppliers.
• Posting Accruals and Prepayments with the aim of providing a representative overview to managers and directors on a monthly and annual basis.
• Conduct bank reconciliations for multiple foreign currency accounts, credit cards, and holding accounts.
• Assist with departmental budgeting based on produced management accounts, working with managers to optimize performance in a data-led approach.
• Handle staff expenses and make supplier payments, including overseas transactions.
• Oversees the CIS scheme and assists employees with Sage 200 and finance queries.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliation
• Monthly journals, correcting nominal entries as required.
• Produce detailed monthly management accounts, including overheads analysis and departmental performance. Advise directors on anomalies, discrepancies, and provide recommendations and forecasts.
• Liaise with external accountants for year-end processes.
• Provide guidance to directors on finance and tax matters.
• Submission of the quarterly VAT returns.
• Manage the various company pensions and ensure compliance.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have 3 Commercial years of experience as an Accountant with Sage 200 experience.  This is a great opportunity for an Accountant to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. You will have solid knowledge of various accounting software and tools.

Key Skills:

• Minimum 3 years of accounts experience in a business/industry setting.
• Sage 200 experience highly desirable
• AAT qualified, CIMA/ACCA part qualified or qualified by experience.

The Location:

The role is based in the HQ in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

Salary: £35,000 - £43,000 + great benefits, contributed pension scheme, 20 days + 8 days bank holidays
