My client are a Rotterdam based, international organisation looking for a Functional Application Manager. You will be responsible for functional support of the ERP system(s) and business processes within the organization, supporting the functional applications acting as a contact point towards the business and stakeholders. Responsibility will be taken to support and maintain the system(s) across the organization, in alignment with strategy and/or priorities.

Roles and responsibilities:
  • Understand, plan and deliver assigned tasks with accuracy to meet stakeholders needs in a timely manner;
  • Complete tasks in compliance with applicable standards and work procedures;
  • Properly plan work to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and adjustments to ensure intended functionality;
  • Liaise, work together with- and advise colleagues and the organization in regards to the assigned business applications;
  • Identify areas requiring more detailed instructions and clarify as necessary to prevent surprises;
  • Identify areas for potential issues and proactively communicate to resolve issues, share information and provide guidance as required;
  • Seek clarification or guidance as soon as difficulties arise and recommend alternative solutions;
  • Perform thorough self-check of all solutions prior to release for use by stakeholders;
 
Skills and experience:
  • Strong social skills and a large customer service focus;
  • A problem solving attitude;
  • Work accurate and give attention to details;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbally);
  • Feel comfortable with giving trainings, writing instructions, answering phone calls and emails or speaking in front of a group;
  • Be self-motivated to improve competencies for the assigned work;
  • Ability to ensure solutions are communicated and documented in a manner that is easily understood by others;
  • Ensure solutions are thoroughly tested prior to release for use by stakeholders; avoid cutting corners;
  • Higher professional education, preferably in a Finance or IT field;
  • Experience in application management;
  • Experience with ERP applications is a must. Dynamics AX is a pré;
  • General understand of IT Infrastructure and software development
