Monday - Friday 8.30am-6.00pm
Salary: up to £33k DOE

A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Field Engineer has arisen to join a successful business who offer IT solutions to a range of SME and Blue-Chip clients. They are looking for a motivated 2nd / 3rd Line Support Engineer with strong Microsoft networking and Office 365 administration skills. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintaining their customers IT infrastructures to ensure seamless operations. This role is both office and on-site based.

  • Act as 2nd / 3rd escalation point for incoming support requests and existing support tickets from 1st line support.
  • Route calls to members of the technical team or sales team as appropriate.
  • Attend customer site to resolve support requests, consultation, pro-active maintenance.
  • Monitor alerts from customer systems and deal with issues that may arise.
  • Ensure that customer technical documentation is kept accurate and up to date in the approved format.
  • Develop your own skillset to embrace new technologies.
  • Assist with the professional development of Junior Engineers.
  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN networks and management of systems
  • Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks.
  • Troubleshoot system failures and issues and provide solutions to restore functionality both remotely and on-site.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a 2nd / 3rd line support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and service management practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Azure administration.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT service management tools.
  • Familiarity with 3CX Voice over IP systems / technologies would be advantageous.
  • Have a full UK driving licence.
