Data Engineering at BigChange means you take pride in the quality of the data and can provide that data with the protection and governance it needs to provide accurate insights.

The Lead Data Engineer is a key member of the data engineering leadership team at BigChange. The role requires a deep understanding of data engineering best practices, data architecture, data security, data modelling, data governance and data transformation.

You will work closely with the data architect and product managers and provide leadership for data engineers and analysts to produce solutions that have a data insight focus. Your role supports the data needs of our customers as well as the data needs of the BigChange business. You will work in a team of Data engineers and Data analysts understanding their needs and leading them to successful rapid and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

  • Database design – relational, non- relational and their design principles
  • Data modelling – able to create data models that support the insight needed
  • BI tools and techniques · Coding and data structure principles
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies
  • Understanding of data governance principles and practices, data quality, data privacy and data security
  • Experience with large data warehouses
  • Proficiency in data modelling and database design
  • Experience in creating ETL processes & data pipelines
