Technical Build Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Build Engineer to join our Operations team.

Based at our Ilkley office and reporting to the Operations Manager, the Technical Build Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering a first class experience for new and existing customers, whilst maintaining minimum downtime for customers throughout the onboarding process for new installations and change management projects. This role requires technical expertise, excellent communication skills and a customer focussed approach.

Key responsibilities of this role:
  • Deliver installations on-time, ensuring a positive first-time experience for customers
  • Promote knowledge transfer to customers to support customer self-management for provided services
  • Prepare and plan bespoke installations
  • Provisioning new customer circuits
  • Plan and complete migrations of customers' services across available platforms
  • Visiting customer premises as and when required to provide on-site assistance
  • Undertaking analysis of systems or circuits and provide reporting
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to resolve issues

Working Environment

We offer hybrid working to promote a healthy work/life balance, working remotely and attending our Ilkley office 3 days per week. Therefore you will need to be within a reasonable commute of this office.

Our Technical Build team hours are 8.30 am - 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Requirements

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members at all levels.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Good knowledge of networking, security, VoIP and broadband technologies.
  • Knowledge of web filtering technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies.
  • Basic understanding of routing protocols.
  • Good understanding of DNS.
  • Experience of firewall configuration and supporting Fortinet technologies.
  • NSE4 or above (preferred)
