An exciting opportunity has arison to join the Technology and Process Optimisation department. As the Lead BSM - Finance and Procurement, you will lead and facilitate the exploitation of Finance and Procurement Information systems/solutions within the Company for competitive advantage and improved productivity, by providing a knowledgeable and innovative bi-directional interface between IS and the business unit functions, whilst providing an exemplary level of customer service and actively managing stakeholder expectations on new Projects and those under development.

The job will involve managing business expectations and influencing senior managers in the definition and prioritisation of requirements right through to managing the suppliers who will deliver them. You will be required to manage key projects but also ensure the smooth delivery of the day-to-day operation of the Finance and Procurement systems in-conjunction with our Service Management team. This role will be seen by each of the HoDs (across Finance, Procurement) as their regular access point into the IS Department and will need to communicate progress and updates on a regular basis.

You will...

  • Work in-conjunction with IS Service Management to resolve any service delivery incident in an expedient manner and with the required quality, including the follow up actions to determine root cause analysis and avoid repeat occurrences, in order to maintain a good service for the Business.
  • Manage 3rd party suppliers and contracts in both Project and BAU mode, ensuring Service Reviews are held and the relationship strengthened, in order to get the best value and focus for Eurostar Group.
  • Manage resources from IS and the business to ensure timely delivery of any projects and ensure project budgets are correctly estimated and monitored with a drive to deliver more for less.
  • Manage business expectations at all stages of the project lifecycle and communicate any changes to necessary stakeholders.
  • Provide Leadership and direct line management of the team and ensure that opportunities are created to grow and develop, in order to have the strongest team and individuals that are required to deliver successfully.
  • Demonstrate and encourage a healthy team spirit and role model being a Leader and a team player, in order to achieve collaboration and success
  • Influence at Director and HoD Level to ensure IS department priorities are aligned with business need, in order to move the business forward and deliver strategic goals consistently.
  • Contribute towards and execute the IS departmental strategy and business strategy to ensure that applications and systems are fit for purpose and developed in line with business need for growth.
  • Be an ambassador for the use of technology within the company to streamline business processes and help reduce cost.
  • Understand the scope/requirements and priorities of each business unit and propose solutions to meet those needs, in order to deliver the capabilities as smoothly as possible.
  • Ensure confidence and trust remains at a high level from all stakeholders and ensure awareness of Eurostar IS processes and strategy.

Requirements

You'll need...

Mandatory:

  • Delivery of IT projects across multiple functions, Project Management and Change Management
  • Full application life-cycle experience
  • Experience of software development methodologies.
  • Experience with a broad range of current technologies /products.
  • Management of third-party suppliers and vendors
  • Appreciation of ITIL Standards and Practices
  • Project management/Business Relationship management experience
  • Willingness to learn French if not already fluent
  • Experience of working in an outsourced environment

 

Desirable:

  • Understanding of existing and emerging technologies
  • Proactive engagement with industry trends and solutions
  • Experience of both Technical and business Transformational projects
  • Experience of Rail projects and approaches, or similar industry
  • Change Management experience
  • PRINCE II certified
  • History of working across several continental locations and cultures
