Story so far

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced Project Grenadier in 2017, our team at INEOS Automotive has grown rapidly. From a start-up to the scaled business, we are now, we’ve hit some huge milestones along the way. Despite some global challenges, we brought our first vehicle, the INEOS Grenadier, from a vision to prototype and to market in just five years. And now, as the first customer deliveries of our INEOS Grenadier have begun, we look to the future with our first all-electric vehicle.

The Role

The Test Engineer is responsible for testing software products that are either built in-house, customized, or configured on the cloud. They partner with developers to plan, test, and implement software changes to ensure that products conform to the desired quality standard.  

As a tester, you’ll be involved in the quality assurance stage of development and deployments. You’ll conduct automated and manual tests to ensure that what has been created by developers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develops and documents step-by-step test cases based on the software requirements elicited by business analysts and software developers 
  • Test efforts approximations 
  • Identifies, logs, and tracks defects 
  • Provides reporting on defect tracking and escalates technical issues as needed 
  • Creating test cases and documents 
  • Develop and run test scripts to automate manual repeatable time intensive tasks 
  • Analysing and reporting testing results (to the SI, test manager, and wider audience) 
  • Continual Service Improvement of the test process
  • Developing & maintaining testing standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistent testing procedures 
  • Contribute to test planning, strategy and approximation including Business mapping
  • Using a “global” perspective, understanding the individual components of systems and the larger global perspective of how the system works. 
  • Understanding DevOps and agile methods 

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent) 
  • Proven experience within IT environment (Web, PIM, integrations, ecommerce, …) in an automotive or retail sector is key, with start-up knowledge advantageous 
  • Demonstratable experience testing applications in accordance to required functionality and non-functional quality attributes (e.g. availability, performance) 
  • Certified in ISEB or ISTQB, Tricentis Tosca or similar a preference 
  • Knowledge of configuration efforts and development  
  • In-depth understanding of the various testing concepts (e.g. functional, usability, performance), with experience writing test plans and test cases 
  • Understanding of basic waterfall and iterative project management concepts 
  • Ability to conduct manual and automated testing 
  • Analytical and logical reasoning, with a high attention to detail & able to work in fast paced environment where prioritization is key 
  • Excellent communicator and team player 
  • Ability to anticipate user behaviour or risks to systems
