Purpose of the role

Led by Digital Catapult and funded by Belfast Region City Deal and Innovate UK, the UK Digital Twin Centre will actively enable industry and innovators to safely embrace, explore and realise the dynamic power of digital twins.  Operating from the heart of Northern Ireland, the Centre will accelerate the adoption of digital twins to drive global competitive advantage for UK businesses. By creating the conditions for digital twins to be better understood, more easily developed and more meaningfully applied, the Centre will give businesses real-time capabilities to make smarter decisions and achieve better outcomes, enabling the potential of digital twins to be realised, not theorised. Through partnerships with industry pioneers, the Centre will demonstrate how digital twins can responsibly revolutionise critical industries in maritime, aerospace and defence, and advance the products, services, and systems of the future. 

At the heart of this mission is the Digital Twin Lab Manager at Digital Catapult, who assumes a vital role in propelling the centre's agenda to expedite the integration of digital twin technologies into practical applications. This role is central to steering the Centre's capabilities forward, acting as the catalyst for the successful execution of pioneering digital twin use cases and demonstrators brought forth by a diverse coalition of leading industry and technology collaborators. The Digital Twin Lab Manager is pivotal in fostering the Centre's evolution, honing internal proficiency, and maintaining platforms and services that resonate with the Centre's ambition to make digital twins more accessible and meaningful in the UK by actively enabling industries and innovators to safely embrace, explore and realise their dynamic power.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)

  • Lead on setting up the Lab for the launch of the centre
  • Be the point of contact for day to day running and maintenance of the Digital Twin Lab 
  • Report on and anaylsing Lab usage metrics and user feedback 
  • Running and maintaining specialist digital twin equipment 
  • Liaise with the wider digital twin team and needs and priorities for the lab 
  • Define  the roadmap for the lab beyond the launch

Requirements

To apply for this role you should 

  • Hold a degree in Computer science or STEM field (with significant computing content) Equivalent professional experience can be considered 
  • Have a grasp of keen interest in Digital Twin Technologies and cyber-physical integrations. IOT, sensors and immersive technologies. 
  • Be adept at managing new or changing technology services, ensuring the performance of systems and services aligns with outcomes. 
  • Relevant recent experience planning, implementing, review, control and audit of services provision to meet customer requirements. Management of SLAs advantageous. 
  • Understand procurement policies, evaluate and select suppliers and manage contracts effectively
