About the team:

FIS Modern Banking Platform (MBP) is cloud-enabled, componentized, container-based processing solution designed with API-first functionality. Plug-and-play components provides a multitude of configurable features for banks to have flexibility and speed to innovate into the future. The cloud first Java-based solution is purpose-built for next generation modern banking, designed to meet the unique business and product needs of individual retail and commercial financial organizations across all lines of business.

The FIS Modern Banking Platform Cloud Architecture & Engineering Team is responsible for the design, engineering, and support of FIS Modern Banking Platform in Public Cloud, used to power our Modern Banking Platform SaaS offering which is then deployed by and for other teams across the globe to use.
 

What you will be doing

• Technical SME and primary ownership of Cloud Architecture & Engineering team related issues for project/implementation teams and environments

• Act as Cloud SME and primary contact with client counterparts.

• Work with product development organization to assimilate product release notes and other product related artifacts for application deployments.

• Assist implementation project teams.

• Progression of JIRA backlog items in Agile sprints.

• Development and customization of CI/CD Toolchains and support

• Finding which tech solution is the best for the solution of current business problems.

• Post implementation 3rd line support investigations.

• Design and execute proof of concept (POC) and proof of value (POV) efforts to efficiently test out improvement ideas.

• Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve technical risks and issues.

• Proactively report status of all in progress initiatives.

• Interface with stakeholders at several levels, from executive management to technical staff

• Support Pre-Sales initiatives and provide MBP SaaS/Public Cloud related content for RFI/RFP response input, customer presentations, meetings, etc.

• Any other Cloud/Solution Architecture related duties as required.

Experience Requirements

• Knowledge of Azure, ideally certified to expect level is considered essential. Ideally have also achieved AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent. 

• Demonstrated experience as Cloud Architect, Solution Architect, System Designer or Technical Lead for more than 3 years.

• Three or more years working in a distributed and heterogeneous computing environment (ZOS, UNIX, Windows)

• Three or more years demonstrated experience in working with relational (and/or hierarchical) databases (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc.)

• Three or more years demonstrated experience in modern software application technologies.

• Experience in the design and implementation of robust and scalable infrastructure architectures.

• Experience of working with DevOps tooling including:  Bitbucket, Jira, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, TeamCity, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, HashiStack (Terraform, Vault, Consul), CloudFormation, ELK, Prometheus, Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Tivoli/Smart Cloud. 

• Experience working with Terraform Enterprise and Kubernetes.

• Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery process and testing in Public Cloud

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization

• Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and time management skills

• Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take.
