Role: Senior Web Developer (PHP / JavaScript).

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire (Fully Flexible working arrangements)

Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (DOE)

Applause IT is recruiting for a British technology company who are exploring the boundaries of cutting-edge software engineering. Our client produces tailor-made solutions for clients across the world, specialising in cross-platform developer software development, 2D / 3D graphics platforms, high performance, high volume transaction processing, and a range of creative applications. They are now looking for a Senior Web Developer to join their team.

As an experienced developer, you will be working on existing and future aspects of web-based applications, with a good understanding of strategy and architecture, from creation to deployment. You will be expected to build relationships across the business as a knowledgeable source of information with regard to different applications, and how they fit various business functions.

What would you be responsible for in this position?

• The ability to understand and translate diverse project requirements.
• Working across the full development life-cycle, from concept to deployment, within specified deadlines.
• Working with implementations across multiple platforms.
• Use of a range of tools and processes to build robust, scalable, and modern applications.

Essential Skills

• A strong understanding of modern frameworks such as Svelte/SvelteKit, Vue or React
• A strong background in and understanding of Laravel and PHP (ideally gained with Laravel 9 or above and PHP 8 or above).
• A good understanding of TypeScript and JavaScript and how this interacts within a web context.
• Experience of Linux servers in the context of deployments using Laravel Forge, Nova and Envoyer.
• Understanding of MySQL and how this interacts with frameworks such as Laravel.

Desirable Skills

• Ability to test on a variety of devices using tools such as BrowserStack
• An understanding of Web Application Security. Any Cloudflare experience is beneficial
• Good knowledge of sessions and cookies and how these are manipulated in a web context
• SOLID Design Principles
• A mobile-first approach to development
