BAM UK & Ireland Division is recruiting an experienced IT Project manager based out of any UK&I office. BAM UK & Ireland consists of four core segments: Construction, Civils, Ireland and Ventures.
Your mission
BAM wants to set the tone in this digital transition; ‘Making Possible’ is what IT delivers internally and wider, to our clients. A professional IT organisation is crucial to BAM achieving this goal and strong IT project management plays a key role in this success.
As an IT Project Manager, you are responsible for managing, monitoring and delivering IT projects in accordance with its scope, schedule and budget supported by BAM’s governance and IT project management framework. You are responsible for documenting and keeping up-to-date the portfolio of projects and supporting with the prioritisation of the demand.
Roles and responsibilities
- You will be responsible for managing and monitoring the implementation of assigned IT projects as agreed ensuring delivery to plan, scope and budget through support and coaching of project teams.
- You will consult and coordinate with the wider divisional and group IT organisation to ensure the successful completion of IT projects in line with the IT Project Management framework, underpinned by clear project governance and prioritisation of work.
- You will set up and conduct monthly project boards to ensure clear communication around progress of assigned projects.
- Your will provide regular monthly project status reporting for your project board and also the wider portfolio reporting. The project manager will ensure that the project RAID log is maintained and regularly reviewed.
- You will create and maintain project plans ensuring that resources and cost are maintained and controlled via a structured change request process and corrective action is taken as appropriate.
- You will own the project budget ensuring that estimates and actuals are recorded, providing an accurate view of budget performance to plan.
- You will foster positive collaboration across the wider BAM business and with third party suppliers to ensure a win-win in project delivery.
- You will identify opportunities for continuous improvement through out the life cycle of the assigned projects ensuring that benefits and value are realized by BAM.
- You will ensure that service transition activities are documented, planned and with the appropriate stage gate reviews to ensure that a smooth hand over into operations take place.
Who are we looking for?
In order to be able to fulfil this role well, you will be able to build productive relationships with a history of demonstrating strong project management delivery into complex environments.
- Minimum Bachelor Degree and/or an ability to demonstrate relevant work experience.
- Substantial Understanding of IT technology
- Significant experience in a similar position within a multinational with a proven IT track record
- Formal project management training using methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile and Management of Risk (MoR) are advantageous
- Effective leadership skills with strong communication at the heart of project management activities towards a common purpose
- A strong, collaborative individual who works cooperatively with others
- A self-starter who is pragmatic in their approach, meticulous in their attention to detail and delivers results
- Experience with complex stakeholders ranging from board members and across the wider organisation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Some travel may be required.
