Freelance TX Operator required for our West London based News client. This independent media company are looking for skilled transmission operators as they expand their output.

Covering multiple international channels on 10 hours shifts working in a Live News Playout environment you will be working closely with MCR & Ingest, whilst communicating with gallery directors for all live news and doing full counts via Talkback. Live output consists of various planned durations from 12” to 58”, with also documentaries & flagship shows airing and live breaking news pieces.

Must be flexible, self-sufficient and proactive with the ability to handle a high pressure environment for a 24/7 news channel working solo.

Shifts are booked well up front and training provided as necessary although expectation is candidate would be quickly up and running - initially shifts may be mainly nights.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role, either within a multi-channel, fully automated transmission environment or ideally in a live transmission situation.
• You will have a good operational knowledge of transmission technologies
• You will be comfortable working in an informal environment where teamwork, accessibility and pragmatism are emphasized.

Key is being used to having full responsibility (rather than team based) for outputs and being calm under pressure, with really good communication skills and the ability to think and act swiftly and appropriately.
