My client in Central Government is actively looking for 2x Senior Technical Architects to assist in the development of high-level and low-level designs for customers that meet business, technical and security requirements.

As the Senior Technical Architect, you will provide technical expertise on designs, documentations, processes and products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create high and low-level technical designs for government clients, meeting business, technical, and cyber security needs.
• Offer technical oversight on escalated 4th line issues, mentoring engineers in incident and problem resolution.
• Work with business analysts and project managers to identify optimal IT solutions and develop robust, scalable, secure system architectures that enhance business performance and efficiency.
• Implement changes to improve technology performance, availability, scalability, flexibility, and reduce complexity.
• Review, analyse, and approve project requests, ensuring technology changes meet standards and use best practices.
• Lead brainstorming sessions to develop solutions for business needs or problems.
• Identify system enhancements to boost performance and cyber security.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to support business growth.
• Provide clear briefs, presentations, and reports to clients and stakeholders on technical tasks.
• Maintain a full audit trail for all engagements and decisions.
• Support the Chief Technology Officer in facilitating discussions and promoting digital capabilities within government organizations.
• Recommend new technology patterns, standards, and guidance, ensuring alignment with broader government architecture.

Essential Skills:

• Strong ability to explain technical detail to on technical staff
• Experience as an Enterprise Architect using architectural standards such as TOGAF
• Experience in creating technical and architectural HLD and LLD
• Solid experience around servers, operating systems and networks e.g. hybrid cloud, gateways, PKI, Email, VMware platforms (VCD, VSAN and NSX), Cisco and Palo Alto
• Experience in design and migration of public cloud capabilities in Microsoft 365, including Azure and AWS
• Good understanding of cyber essentials, NIST IT Security Principles

Additional Requirements:

• Worked in complex matric organisations
• Infrastructure as code, containerisation, microservices
• Qualified in TOGAF, ITIL, MCSE, VCP or CNNP

Contract Details:

This is an outside IR35 contract role, offering competitive remuneration of approximately £530 per day
