UX/UI Designer

Hours: Full-time - 40 hours per week
Salary: £30-35k DOE
About the role:
Are you the next UX / UI Designer? Our client is looking for someone to join their UX team, to ensure their brand resonates through every touchpoint of their customer shopping journey. A UX / UI Designer’s mission is to create aesthetically pleasing and seamless experiences that align with their values and ambitions.
You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy. You will be responsible for the digital presence, brand display, e-commerce platforms, and champion the customer by making consistent improvements to the user journey.
Experience in a start-up company or e-commerce is preferred, along with a passion for and appreciation of luxury brands and/or interior design.
Duties:
- Gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements and building navigation components.
- Work with brand ambassadors, product development, marketing and other departments of the business to develop the digital brand.
- Create digital assets for software developers to build online interfaces.
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
- Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like.
- Create original graphic designs.
- Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (heuristic, hierarchy, consistency, responsiveness).
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
- Adhere to style standards on fonts, colours and images.
- Create and develop our design system.
- Ultimately, you will create both functional and appealing experiences that address the customers’ needs and help the company grow.
Skills and Experience:
- To be successful in this role, you should have experience with designing mobile and web interfaces.
- You must have experience in using design software to collaborate with software developers (Adobe XD or Figma).
- Created prototypes and wireframe tools, low and high-fidelity clickable simulations.
- Conducted user interviews and usability research.
- Candidates who have a portfolio of professional design projects that includes work with web/mobile applications preferred.
- Ideally a background in online/e-commerce, furniture, homewares, home décor or similar industry is highly preferred
