The Company

Major IT & Digital have partnered with a leading retail and distribution business in central Birmingham.  The company is a well-established business achieving a UK turnover of £260m in 2023 with continued growth and expansion plans for this year.

My client has immediate requirements for a Senior Software Developer with strong PHP 7/8 and Next.JS software skills, to work on a number of web based projects including a large-scale data migration project planned over the  next 12 months.

Due to nature of these development projects this role does require someone to be on-site 5 days per week with some flexibility on the working arrangements for the right person.

The Candidate

As a senior developer you will contribute to the design and delivery of key projects, software implementations, writing quality code and ability to work to tight deadlines.

The ideal person should demonstrate creativity and innovation, keep up to date with the latest technology, open to working in a challenging and demanding environment, support and mentor junior developers and assist with their ongoing development.

The Role

  • Strong knowledge of NextJS framework
  • Extensive knowledge of PHP 7 or 8 and MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of backend development skills
  • Ability to perform coding assignments and review code for accuracy
  • Ability to create and implement  design plans
  • Strong knowledge of UI
  • Strong knowledge of HTML / React skills
  • Keep up to date with latest technology and ongoing personal development
