IT Developer 

Location: Solihull, Birmingham  

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 

The Vacancy 

Full time, Permanent - Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours per week 

The function of the IT department is to ensure that the IT systems & hardware at Whale meet the needs of the company on both a day-to-day basis and long-term basis. The IT systems comprise of software systems including in-house developed software, third party systems and off the shelf packages. These systems are developed in various languages including C#, VB, ASP.NET.HTML / CSS and Microsoft Access.  

Whale Tankers is a manufacturing company of over 300 employees, mostly based in Solihull, but with salespeople and service engineers working remotely around the country. The IT department will install, operate, maintain, develop and troubleshoot various systems, and support users in their use of these systems.  

We are looking for an IT Developer to join our team, based in Solihull! 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

• Review, improve and rewriting existing legacy applications 

• Participate in requirements gathering to ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are understood 

• Write clean, scalable code using C#/.NET programming language 

• Analysing, reviewing and altering the programme to increase operating efficiency and adapt new requirements 

• Troubleshooting and resolving system and user issues  

• Develop new reporting requirement from any change requests 

• Develop any new system enhancements  

The successful candidate will have: 

• 2 years of experience as a C#/.NET Core / MVC Developer 

• Experience with HTML / CSS / JavaScript / JSON  

• Design & Intergration experience with Restful API / Web API 2 

• Experience with SQL Server including Store Procedure 

• Visual Studio Knowledge  

It would also be great if you had: 

• Epicor ER10 or another ERP system exposure 

• Knowledge of DevExpress 

• Exposure to SSRS or PowerBi 

• Experience with mobile application development
