The Role In a Nutshell

  • Perform a leading Discovery & Innovation role in having accountability for the validation of emerging technology concepts.
  • Be able to translate technology concepts into business language
  • Strong knowledge of Software, Data or Digital technology development
  • IT design and integration skills and strong knowledge of IT development methodologies
  • Strong, rounded project management skills in agile and traditional methodologies
  • The gravitas to work with the unknown, new concepts, no predefined processes, finding the root to reach the required conclusion.


Skills & Experience

  • Strong, rounded project management skills in agile and traditional methodologies (including concept of Minimum Viable Product (MVP), risks, monitoring controls, communications etc)
  • Strong communicator, verbal and written, can translate technology concepts into business language
  • Applied change management experience from concept to in-life
  • Good knowledge of Software, Data or Digital technology development
  • IT design and integration skills and strong knowledge of IT development methodologies
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, able to build and maintain a broad range of senior stakeholder relationships and influence their support to change agendas
  • Ability to leverage organisation dynamics, personal networks and subject matter experts to expedite viability assessments of innovative concepts and troubleshoot
  • Ability to navigate the business and the operating models to seek, find and secure necessary inputs and owners
  • Gravitas to represent CTO to senior stakeholders


The Team

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key part in technology innovation, pushing the boundaries of what we do and how we do it, now and in the future. You'll be joining an in-house innovation team who collaborates on some of the most interesting opportunities from right across the business, working closely with a range of technical and operational subject matter experts.


Your Responsibilities

  • Qualifying concepts and recommending 'start, stop, continue' to mature innovations
  • Building and maintaining delivery plans and/or IT roadmaps aligned to the appropriate business deployment plan
  • Lead appropriate project reviews and applied learning
  • Driving requirements by timescales required to support delivery
  • Accountable for senior stakeholder management
  • Business reporting into the required operational units
