JavaScript Developer
Posted 03/08/2022 by Raytheon
We’re growing … FAST!
In fact, our team has grown from around 15 engineers in 2016 now up to nearly 300 and that is only expected to continue.
With this current and continued growth, we are looking to hire additional JavaScript Developers to work on a remote basis. While we have office hubs located in Manchester & Gloucester it is expected you will spend less than 1 day a month on site, except for your first week where ideally we want to make sure your brand-new Mac (or windows) device is set up and running for optimum use.
While we can’t talk about the exact nature of the work that you will be doing, we build critical Software products for our customers all with the goal of helping protect the UK from Cyber-attack.
We use a broad tech stack, advocating to always use the best tool for the job currently our main tooling of choice is around the following.
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React
- Node
We work in small Agile teams and deploy into well maintained CI/CD environments often onto a cloud-based infrastructure – our preferred at current is AWS.
Why Raytheon?
As mentioned, we are growing – FAST. With this growth comes a lot of opportunity for our Engineers to grow into more Senior positions, taking on technical leadership and line management responsibility (If you wish to!).
You will be supported by a mix of engineers from different backgrounds, we take learning very seriously and offer all our Engineers a self-directed learning budget of £1500 for you to spend as you see fit. Previously our engineers have used this to attend conferences, buy learning courses or obtain certifications.
We believe in doing good for the communities we support – offering 5 days fully paid volunteering leave.
