IT Support Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Boden Group for an IT Support Technician to deliver the IT services for the business. 

The primary role of the IT Support Technician is to deliver, maintain and support IT services.

To work within and support the continued implementation and development of the business IT policy strategy.

Main Duties:

  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and software applications
  • Monitor and maintain computer systems, phone systems and networks
  • Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
  • Maintain Active Directory, Azure AD and other business systems with new users, user changes and leavers.
  • IT allocation and inventory
  • Provide first level IT support to Boden employees
  • Monitor the IT infrastructure and report problems in backups, servers, gateways etc.

Key skills:

  • Knowledge of Office 365 and Azure AD.
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of Server client networks and Active Directory
  • Able to setup new devices to an enterprise standard, Windows laptops and Phones
  • Some hardware experience (able to swap out disks, RAM, etc)

Required Skills and Abilities:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years related IT experience
  • Experience in multiple software systems including the Office 365 stack, Windows, Desktop office suite, Browsers (Chrome, Edge)
  • An understanding of
    • networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Firewalls, Switches, VPN, Wi-Fi)
    • general IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc.)
    • server client networks (AD, Server 2012+, Group Policy)

Desirable:

  • Experience creating clear and concise procedural documentation and reports
  • Relevant IT qualification for Main Duties
  • Knowledge of Cyber Essential Plus
  • A previous technical role, supporting a business with multiple software applications and geographical locations.
  • More advanced hardware experience, (RAID systems, UPS, Rack servers, etc)
  • Previous knowledge and experience of MoD contracts or work with security environments
  • Experience in IT systems and utilization in business management

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical forum.
