Systems Support Analyst

Howdens Joinery is looking for a Systems Support analyst to join our busy Supply chain manufacturing systems team, based in our Runcorn office in Cheshire. This is an exciting time to join an experienced manufacturing IS team in an organisation that is embarking on a broad programme of investment, upgrading and resilience across it's supply chain.
What you will be doing as a Systems Support Analyst:
Reporting to the Manufacturing systems lead, you will have a good all-round knowledge of IT in terms of computer hardware and software.
You will be part of a small team that; support production line assets ensuring they are always available and are well protected.
Assist in providing a robust and resilient support strategy in line with operational team requirements.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, who is self-motivated and exhibits a proactive approach to work as you'll be managing and resolving first line support requests, providing business teams with IS knowledge and guidance as well as producing system documentation for current and new system / machine processes.
You will also be working with other systems analysts and other IT teams to work on future systems evolution in line with our company strategy and departmental objectives. A willingness to learn new processes and develop relationships with end users, key stakeholders and external partners is important.
Key skills and experience required:
- A good all-round knowledge of IT is required
- Good documentation skills.
- Ideally some awareness of machine control systems.
- Knowledge of windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience of file and database manipulation
- Experience in process analysis, fault finding and solution design.
- Experience of working to deadlines on projects and support.
- Able to communicate confidently with technical and non-technical teams.
- A willingness to work as part of a multi-skilled cross-functional team is a must, along with a flexible approach to working and confidence in leading workshops.
Candidates with the following experience would be advantageous:
- Experience of working and supporting hardware and systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working in a trade / manufacturing organisation
- Understand supply chain manufacturing processes
- Working to deadlines on projects.
