IT Network Infrastructure Manager Telecoms

Location: Glasgow

We are looking for an Ethernet Network Manager with experience in the Telecoms domain who is keen on progressing their career within a major scale digital transitional upgrade, one of the largest seen in the UK.

This role will be working very closely with the Ethernet e2e design team, taking their designs and translating them to various communication providers. You will be required to produce documentation that articulates system changes, so that when orders arrive into the business, you are able to keep track of frequent system releases and provide the multiple communications providers with the latest sets of changes.

The Ethernet portfolio is a £1bn revenue stream, accounting for 20% of the business turnover. It plays a fundamental role in providing the highest bandwidth solutions to Communications Providers and Mobile Operators and is a major growth area for this business.

Technical skills required:

  • Responsible for breaking down technical solutions into deliverable elements.
  • Working alongside the business IT Architect and wider Technology Platform Architects to provide solutions that adhere to the IT and Digital roadmap and that are scalable, adaptable and are in synchronization with ever changing business needs.

Leadership and communications skills required:

  • We require an excellent communicator who is able to translate technical data to various key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for driving and managing the strategic transformation across specific projects in the Ethernet portfolio.
  • You will manage complex stakeholders to ensure that change is embedded successfully in the organisation and benefits are delivered.

Reporting into the Solution Design Director, you will focus on business Telecom's products; such as wholesale broadband, Ethernet and IPVPN, understanding large scale system and designing changes across the system estate.

The role:

  • Continuously improve the overall performance of the team in terms of identifiable metrics such as quality, timeliness, architecture adherence and others.
  • Build productive and positive relationships with all stakeholders, including peer managers within and outside of the team.
  • Responsible for breaking down technical solutions into deliverable elements.
