We are looking for a talented and experienced Web Developer to help manage and develop the University of Wolverhampton’s website.
About the Web Developer Role
Based in External Relations, you’ll continually improve the University’s core website and digital presences, providing an expert technical and creative service to the organisation.
With ample room to innovate, you will be directly responsible for implementing improvements to the University’s websites, ensuring they conform to the latest in best practice.
Working closely with the rest of the team, you will play a key role on substantial projects; this might include integrating new systems and supporting the ongoing redesign of the University website. You will drive the development of new front and back-end website functionality and content templates, in order to continually enhance the performance and effectiveness of the core University website in-line with business goals.
You’ll work with a range of web tools and stakeholders to optimise the website for user experience, SEO and the latest web standards, whilst ensuring the design remains fresh, up-to-date and fit for purpose. You will also play a key role in training and supporting our internal network of website content editors across the University to ensure best practice is applied across the staff community.
You will be an enthusiastic and skilled web developer, with substantial experience in the use, development and design of organisation wide websites, and a passion for implementing the latest online innovations.
You will be used to managing your time, stakeholders and priorities effectively, with extensive experience of information architecture, web design and large-scale content management.
You’ll know that digital technology never stands still, and will be used to actively learning and implementing unfamiliar technologies, systems and languages when required.
Flexible, you’ll be able to prioritise your workload in order to meet project deadlines and juggle multiple responsibilities and competing demands from internal and external clients.
You will put visitor experience at the forefront of everything you do, working concisely and systematically, whilst ensuring the ultimate aim or strategic purpose of each project is delivered.
