1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer
SBS IT Ltd are looking for trustworthy, skilled and motivated candidates to fill a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer Role. The IT Support Engineer is to provide 1st and some 2nd line support to our customers in a professional and timely manner. You will establish good relationships with new and existing clients and ensure that issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
This is a job that requires you to have an analytical brain but also think quickly on your feet. You must possess a passion for technology and solving technical problems. Working with various clients from across the South-East and beyond, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer.
The key responsibilities of a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer include, but are not limited to:
Providing support over the phone, by email, remote session and onsite as required
Logging, responding to and resolving support calls
Escalating support requests to the respective team member or third party
Providing regular updates on logged tickets, request updates on tickets from users and third parties as required
Setting up and repairing computers and peripherals; rebuilding existing installations
Monitoring networks and reports
Utilising user management systems

The key qualities of a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer:
Will have at least one years’ experience in a support role – possessing strong troubleshooting skills, an energetic eagerness to learn and a high attention to detail
Driving licence and able to travel (costs will be reimbursed)
Very good verbal and written skills
The essential skills of a 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer:
Microsoft Windows OS – Windows 7-10, Server 2012-2016; Microsoft Office 2013, 2016, Office365; Networking infrastructure – protocols, switching, routing, DHCP and DNS; Virtualisation platforms – VMWare and Hyper-V; Mac OS – 10.11 onwards
The following skills are desirable:
Knowledge of any/all of the following: security products and platforms; backups products; cloud platforms; server administration; Active Directory and Exchange
IT qualifications such as MCP, MCDST, Network+
