IT Technician/Training and Support (part time)

Salary: £24,302, pro rata

Location: Halifax West Yorkshire

Duration: Permanent Full Time

Hours: Wednesday to Friday pro rata 22.5 hours. (Some flexibility will be required according to business needs, over different days at times and hours too)

Start Date: ASAP

Benefits: 20 days plus stats pro rata holidays central location, pension, etc


Our client is a highly reputable organisation based locally, this role will be based in Huddersfield but may need to travail occasionally within the Kirklees area. They are currently looking to recruit an IT Technician/training support.

THE JOB/YOUR ROLE (not limited to the below)

Provide appropriate technical support, help and advice to staff and visitors/volunteers using the facilities

Maintain and monitor the appropriate use of any software and hardware.

Accurately mange IT asset inventory and software licence compliance

Support the development of the organisation to use new equipment.

Negotiate with external contractors regarding equipment and maintenance.

Conduct individual and group training on the use of IT resources.

Develop a volunteers training package

Review and make suggestions to improve the service provision with regards to IT

Work as part of a team adopting flexible working practices, attending meetings and liaising with people in the organisation at all levels to ensure the efficient operation of IT systems

Enhance the Knowledge and skills relevant to IT through online resources and attend training where appropriate.

Working with the team on ongoing projects to ensure IT solutions are considered as part of the project delivery.

Developing and delivering basic IT training as needed in consultation with staff and volunteers.

In liaison with staff and volunteers contribute and make changes to web pages and social media sites

Represent the Organisation with IT related events and meetings

THE CANDIDATE, you will have experience of the following

Work related experience in a small organisation providing 1st line support to IT users.

Experience of solving IT support issues, prioritising requests, implementing and communicating timely solutions.

Good working knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks

Experience of developing and delivering basic User training

Ability to produce accurate work at a pace, with attention to detail

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with limited direct supervision and is self-motivated/pro-active and willing to work alone and as part of a team.

Ability to travel to other offices and services as required

Non-judgmental attitude when supporting others

Any relevant IT qualification

Ability to contribute to working IT policies such as GDPR, Social media policy etc.

Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Communication Skills, interpersonal, presentational, written and communicating skills.

Ability to maintain and administer web pages and social media sites.

Driving Licence advantageous
