You will be joining a team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Junior Analysts that total around 20. You will be tasked with helping to develop and enhance the datasets in place to support the development of analytical insights, whilst working with existing technologies and identifying new ones. The company are looking for a Data Scientist who has at least a couple of years of industry experience and ideally with a Masters or PhD in a relevant field (although not essential).
At the moment, the team aren’t set on using one programming language. Whether you are strong on R, Python or Spark, they are not too fussed. At the moment, the Data Science platform is on Azure and they use an Azure Data Lake too.
The team was established at the start of 2017 and with demand growing, there are big plans for the future. They are adding huge value to the company and although a lot of the models are now in place, there is big potential to improve and add to these and ultimately add real value to the company. A lot of the current work is based around predictive analytics and you will be helping the team to prevent potential business critical issues before they arise.
Key Skills and Experience:
** A couple of years industry experience
** Programming expertise in one of: R, Python, Spark, Hadoop (whilst still being hands on)
** Experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, NLP etc
** PhD (desirable) or Masters/BSc in a related field
** Azure or cloud experience – ideally Azure Data Lakes (beneficial not required)
** Having worked in the Manufacturing/Energy sector would be advantageous
