We now have the opportunity for an experienced and skilled Senior Perl Developer to help with the continuing expansion of the UK's fastest growing job board.

As a Senior Developer you'll have an in depth knowledge of Modern Perl and object-oriented programming. You believe in best practices and tests (sometimes developing using TDD), and you're equally happy adding new features or refactoring legacy code to improve the overall architecture. You enjoy learning new technologies and coaching / mentoring your fellow developers.

Essential Skills:

  • OO Perl with Moose and DBIx::Class
  • Apache / Nginx
  • SQL (MySQL)
  • Linux
  • Version control (ideally with Git)

Desirable skills:

  • Solr
  • Template Toolkit
  • Plack
  • Javascript (JQuery)

Our development team performs code review

(with Gerrit) and continuous integration (with Jenkins running our Test::Class unit tests) to increase code quality. We use commit hooks with Perltidy and Perl::Critic and we have daily standups, and weekly demos and retrospectives.
